20.02.09 - Best night ever (part 3 - the show)
The rest of the show was amazing. We managed to get out before Hey Monday had even started playing which was great, because they were awesome live. It was also really sweet when they were leaving the stage and Cassadee actually waved to all us poor people in the stands.
The All-American Rejects played second and if you’ve read any of my recent blogs, you’d know I’m not too keen on them anymore after what I’ve heard from and about Tyson. They were alright live, Tyson sucked a little for the first couple of songs and sounded like an alien, but after that he had really good pitch and it was very enjoyable. Or rather, it would have been more enjoyable if he wasn’t such a sleaze who constantly hit on every girl in the stadium. He was also wearing pink skinny leg jeans and sparkly shoes so that gave me the wrong impression too. Although it might have been the part where he decided to strip off his jacket into the singlet too. During the break between AAR and FOB however, we decided it’d be a good idea to buy some water and I wanted to get a Fall Out Boy tote bag because it was heaps cute. Note to self: next time just push to the front of the line if you know what you’re getting in what size, because it’s not fair we all have to miss out because you can’t work out what size shirt you’ll be and have to try on each band shirt at the table.
Now onto the best performance of the night: Fall Out Boy. I’ll try to keep this brief otherwise I’ll be writing this for the next 10 years of my life and I’ll have to post it in different parts weekly. The set list was pretty much identical to the set list I posted earlier this week, only they played Grenade Jumper instead of Dead On Arrival and Lullabye before This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race which Pete dedicated to Bronx: his favourite person in the entire world, which made me go “Awwwww” even though no one else seemed to know the words to it. I don’t really have many details to give you, they all played to perfection and I screamed until I lost my voice. Pete did say that they were documenting the entire world tour and are hoping to turn it into either a really long webisode or a DVD which I am really psyched about. Oh and we were made to do the mexican wave in the stands, shout “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie”, “welcome to brisbane”, “detox just to retox”, “I don’t care” and probably more that I don’t remember. They also had some amazing light-up guitars during the show which looked absolutely AMAZING. Pete also stood there chatting with us and made Patrick tell us the story about the time they went to Denny’s and he didn’t want to go so they went to the burrito place instead and stole forks from Denny’s. It doesn’t seem funny now, but it certainly was to hear Patrick tell it. Oh, and Pete apologized before Grenade Jumper saying that “we will most likely f**k this up” and Patrick agreed saying “we will most definitely f**k this up” even though they ended up playing to perfection. Well I guess that’s all I can say for now, I’m a little tired. Take care,
